In order to connect to Senior Systems’ API, we need to organize with both your school and Senior Systems. With both parties set up correctly, Reach will be able to add your school to the nightly sync for daily updates, as well as perform your initial import.
Setup Checklist:
Follow the checklist below in order to establish your API sync with Reach:
- Contact your Senior Systems representative and request that your portal has the Data Exporter Service module activated
- Upon installation of the Data Exporter Service module, you will need to create a Username and Password in the Data Exporter Service module that Reach will use to connect directly to your portal. Create the username and password (typically, the Username will be reach and the Password will also be reach, but you can create anything you wish)
- Finally, Reach will need to know your Senior Systems Portal API URL. This is the place where Reach connects (using the Username and Password you created) in order to sync data. You can upload the Username, Password and Portal API URL information to https://securedrop.reach.cloud/
Upon receipt of the Username, Password and Portal API URL, Reach will perform a “dry run” against your portal. This will sync the data to a spreadsheet (CSV) file so that we can confirm that your portal has all the correct data in the correct places.
Reach will then deliver the CSV file to you for verification. Please review the data and ensure that ALL columns in the spreadsheet have the CORRECT data in them. Failure to confirm this will result in Reach importing data into the incorrect fields.
When you have checked the data file, Reach will backup your existing database and performa LIVE test against your database at a time of your choosing. We will then require you to spot check the data in Reach after the sync and sign off on the process.
When we have the final sign off form you, Reach will then install your sync as a nightly sync and will automatically update your Reach portal daily.
