ARTICLE: Custom Terminology within Reach

Schools and organizations use a variety of nouns to refer to different aspects of their campus and populations.  Reach allows for the customization of a few key terms when describing general and physical locations within Reach.


System Configurations > Terminology

When setting the nouns for General Terms, Reach will display the specified noun in all areas of the Reach system.  General Terms that have the ability to be customized are as follows:
  1. Boarder Noun - This is the noun we use when dealing with the most important items you are tracking
  2. Parent Noun - This is the noun we use when dealing with those that authority over the most important items you are tracking
  3. Host Noun - This is the noun we use when dealing with those who can take possession/custody/accommodate the most important items you are tracking
  4. Staff Noun - This is the noun we use when dealing those who have authority to use Reach (irrespective of their individual security levels)
  5. House Noun - This is the noun we use when dealing with physical edifices that typically house your most important items.
  6. Year Noun - This is the noun we use when dealing with annual groupings of the most important items you are tracking




When setting the nouns for Physical Location Settings, Reach will display the specified noun in all areas of the Reach system.  Physical Location Settings terms that have the ability to be customized are as follows:
  1. Location Noun - This is the noun we use when dealing with the physical location(s) your most important items are physically at
  2. On Campus Noun - This is a specific noun that describes when your most important items are physically at your location
  3. Off Campus Noun - This is a specific noun that describes when your most important items have left your physical location
