The Reach Audit log will display a list of all login attempts and this log will also identify any failed login attempts with a reason why the login attempt failed.
How to check failed login records
- Go to Dashboards > Audit Log
- In the Search field search for the term "Fail"
- In the module field select the AUTH module'
This will produce a list of all failed logins for the date range selected.
The reason for failure can be easily identified by checking the WHO column of the table.
- When a user's name is provided this indicates that Reach can identify who was attempting to login by the username that was used. These fails are due to an incorrect password being used.
- When the word SYSTEM appears in the Who column this indicates thar Reach cannot match the username used with any user in Reach. These fails are the user using an incorrect Username.
Users can click the Forgot Password button on Reach login pages to be sent a new password setup
The best way to reduce login failures is to implement Single-Sigh-On where Reach users use the same login for access to other school systems as their Reach login. This ensures users only have to remember one username and password to access all school systems. It also ensures greater security for all users at login.
