Article: How to Merge Pastoral Notes
Merging Pastoral Notes may be required sometimes to consolidate duplicated records or to merge related content. Reach provides a Pastoral Merge function from the Pastoral Note view.
The ability for staff to merge Pastoral reports is controlled by a User Permission. This can be activated for individual users (Personal Permissions Profile) or for entire Roles of users using the Infinity Base Security profiles.
Procedure for merging Pastoral Notes
- Open the Master Pastoral note that you merge data into. The Pastoral Report Number for this note will be retained and the Pastoral Note Number for the second item selected for the merge will be removed.
- Select the Merge button and then select the Pastoral report Number for the note that you would like it merged with

- Once selected a merge screen will appear where you can select what data gets retained from each of the selected notes. The merged note will be updated with the content set for the merge for each field. The merged data will then be saved as the merged report.

IMPORTANT! Once merged the action cannot be undone
