ARTICLE: News


The News feature, located on the Metrics View screen (Home Page), allows you to send News / Information / Updates across your entire user population.


Metrics View
News items are highlighted as grey, each with a header and subject line.
Listed in chronological order, with the newest item at the top.
To click on an item will open the full story.


News Management
GO TO: Communications >> View News Management

To Create / Edit / Delete News items, everything can be done here, in a quick and easy format.
Any current items will be shown here as line items, buttons provided allow for saving new items or changes, to undo changes or to add new items.



To click on a line item will open the News Details page for that item, here you have full edit functionality and the ability to delete the item.
Enter a headline, click on the date to open the calendar and select as required. 
The Hero Image allows you to add an item from within your Reach Portal, to display to viewers.
The Summary will be the first line of text under the Heading.
The Details section allows for complex formatting including, adding videos and hot-links.
Remember to save any edits made, and check the Metrics View to test your news item.

Back to the News Management screen, to click the 'Add News Item' button, the same 'Details' screen is provided, with the same functionality, remember to save.


News Settings
GO TO: System Configurations >> General

This one simple setting, number 2246, allows you to switch on / off the News from appearing on the Metrics View screen.
You can also view System Configurations >> News, however, this is just another access point to the News Management section, as detailed in this document.


Please Note: All News items are created and managed by your staff within your schools Reach platform, your news items, will also, only appear within your schools Reach platform.
