ARTICLE: Reach Ready for Start of the Year

Welcome back! We hope you found some downtime, on a calm lake or beach, with a book and you were able to re-charge over the last few months. This article serves as a reference and checklist to ensure that you will be Reach ready when your students arrive back on campus for the start of the school year.

Data

This is what keeps us up at night. We want to ensure that your student, parent and staff data is loaded, accurate and syncing.

Student & Parent Data

  1. If you are syncing with one of our many partners, like Blackbaud, Veracross, Senior Systems, Magnus Health, etc… Not to worry, you should be seeing your returning student and your new students already loaded. If you are having issues, please send an email to support@reach.cloud.
  2. If you not actively syncing but would like to, we want to help. Start by asking your IT Department to email Evan at evan@reach.cloud.
  3. If you are not syncing and we do a manual upload of your student data, no problem.

Important: To upload completed data file, use our Securedrop box (Link)

Staff Data

Reach requires a manual upload of any NEW staff.

Staff who have departed from your school will need to be deleted from your Reach System.  ARTICLE: Deleting Contacts and Recovering Deleted Contacts in Reach

Existing Staff who have changed roles and responsibilities within your school may need their Reach Role types updated and accessibility permissions altered.  ARTICLE: Updating Existing Staff Account Settings

Reach now integrates with iSams, Blackbaud and Veracross to sync Staff data, with more integrations planned for the future.  For more information on Staff Sync integrations, please contact our Support Team at support@reach.cloud 

Welcome Emails to Students and Staff

You are able to send a welcome email to a large number of new users with information on how to access their Reach account.  ARTICLE: Sending a Bulk Welcome Email

System Configuration: ‘Housekeeping'

You may want to review your System Configuration Settings, specifically:
Leave Types - ensuring that leaves are set to active/inactive, workflows are still correct and your cutoffs and quotas are set properly. GUIDE: Configure Leave Type Settings
Rollcall Categories - ensure that you have the proper Rollcalls configured in your system and set to the required Rollcall Type (Live, Standard or AM/PM Registration).  GUIDE: Configuring Rollcall Categories
Pastoral Categories - these categories/tags help you identify, mark and report on behaviors of students and are useful in Duty Reports and Incident Reports. GUIDE: Configure Pastoral Settings
UDF’s (User Defined Fields) - UDF’s are used to display permissions or important information on the Student Sidebar. Many schools use UDF’s for Driving Permissions, Academic Standing, Allergies, Advisor Name, Roommate. If you are interested in learning more about UDF’s, click here.
