ARTICLE: Veracross Athletic Groups Sync in Reach
Veracross Athletic Groups sync is not enabled by default for schools that sync with Veracross, but if the is a desire for the Veracross Athletic Groups sync to be enabled, please contact support@reach.cloud to make that request and we can enable the configurations for the school's portal. The sync is not bi-directional with Veracross, but rather will sync from Veracross into Reach the roster of activated Athletic Groups. Removal of students from Athletic Groups will need to be managed manually and will not update via the sync when a student is removed from the Athletic Group's roster in Veracross.
Once the feature is enabled in a school's portal, the school can make 'Active' individual Athletic Groups that will sync into Reach during the next nightly scheduled sync. They enabled sync will automatically create a Group in Reach that matches the Athletic Group label in Veracross. To configure the Veracross Athletic Groups, go to System Configurations > Veracross Group Select. For each Athletic Group listed, select whether it should be 'Active' or 'Inactive' in the nightly sync and then Save Changes.
After the first sync occurs to bring in the Athletic Group to your portal you will need to update the group type from 'Student' to 'Sport' in System Configuration > Groups. Staff will then be able to utilize filtering by the Sports Groups in Reach, assisting in taking team attendance, creating bulk leave requests for teams, bulk SISO'ing teams, sending communication through Reach to the teams.
Group labels cannot contain commas as this will cause the system to separate the group at the comma and create two separate groups. Reach pulls in the Group's "Abbreviation" field from Veracross as the Group Label, so if your Veracross Groups contain commas in their Abbreviation, they will need to be updated in Veracross to not include Commas before marking the sync active in Veracross Group Select.
