We track the status of every email sent by your school's REACH portal.  Emails are tracked for successful delivery, opening, clicks and delivery failure.  You can view these details in the Email Log ( Dashboards > Email Log )

Some emails will have obvious failure reasons (eg: user has unsubscribed, user email address does not exist, user email address is full). These are what we refer to as hard bounces.

Sometimes there may also be service interruptions on the recipient email server. In these instances REACH will treat this as a soft bounce and continue to try and deliver the message being sent for up to 8 hours in the following intervals: 10 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, and 4 hours. If it fails perpetually then after the 4 hours attempt you will get the Failed Timeout message.
