The Communications section of the main menu provides Reach Now allowing users to send direct messages, post in chat rooms, and share on noticeboards.
Please Note: Reach Now is part of the larger Communications Module that needs to be installed and enabled for your school's Reach Portal. Contact your school's Reach Administrator to connect this extension module.

The Reach Now section is comprised of three sections for communicating.
Direct Messaging
This method allows staff to have one-on-one conversations in real time with any contact in your Reach portal. By default, Reach Now opens in the Direct Message option.
Click on any current to start messaging, these users are listed, due to previous messaging.
To start a new chat, simply click on New Direct Message, select the user to message with and click on Start Chatting.
Important features include:
● Restrictions can be applied to staff type users connecting with other contacts in your Reach community
● Parent-to-parent, student-to-student, parent-to-student, for example are not possible in Reach Now
● All conversations are logged in Reach and can be reported historically. There are no silent conversations in Reach Now
● All records are maintained on individual user profiles
Noticeboards
These function as announcement zones, providing a platform for one-way communications to your community.
To post an announcement simply click on a current noticeboard in your list and add your note.
To create a new noticeboard, click on New Notice Boards, add a name, the participants that can view the notices, and click save.
Important features of Boards:
● An unlimited number of boards can be created
● Boards can be open to all user types in your Reach community
● The audience of your notice board, cannot reply to items that are published
● Users subscribe to boards via their Reach web or mobile app login
● Subscribers will receive a notification alert when information is published
● You can determine who is permitted to see and subscribe to each board
Rooms are open communication channels that allow staff users in your community to communicate by viewing and adding content.
To post in a group simply click on a current chat room in your list and add your note.
To create a chat room, click on New Chat Room, add a name, the participants that can view the notices, and click save.
Important features of Rooms:
● You can have an unlimited number of rooms
● Rooms are only open to staff type users in your Reach community - no student/parent communication
● You can determine who is permitted to join each room to view content
● You can determine who is permitted to contribute content to each room
● Room comments are retained in Reach for historic reporting
