ARTICLE: Meals Count and Meals Dashboards

To view and manage meal data within your schools Reach portal, four areas are provided, each serves a different purpose.

Meal Data Areas

Meals Count

This area of the Metrics View screen is a view only area. The Meals data displays the aggregate number of meals that will be required for the upcoming meal times. This is based on the known data within Reach for each student profile determining when students are expected to be on or off campus.
Buttons along the bottom provide some quick actions, the 'Send to Kitchen' button directly sends the current data to the default email address setup by your school. The 'Excluding Pending' and the 'Checking Actual Return Date' buttons adjust the view based on your selection, and of course the 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons allow you to scroll through the weekly data.

Meal Type

In the main menu open the Dashboards Menu and select Meals Dashboard.
The default view is the Meal Type Dashboard which provides the standard Reach filter options, and a date range selector, in which to curate the data you wish to view.
The results of your search are separated by date as you scroll down the page.
In this example the daily meals are Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner, shown here in different colours and the meal types separated by the boxes across the screen.
You are provided three blue buttons to Print the meal data, and Add or Edit the meal data.

Meals Report

This 'By Day' view provides the data per student / date / meal time, and is a view only area.

The standard Reach filter options allow you to curate the data, and a date range selector provides a control to view specific data.
As required, the data can be exported by clicking on the download button.

Special Meals

Special meals are non-standard meals, that can be influenced by medical conditions or late meals/packed meals.
Meal counts are calculated in the same way as standard Meals, however the Special Meals dashboard displays which meals are non-standard and for which student.

While still in the Meals Dashboard screen, the Special Meals can be viewed by simply clicking on the 'Show All Details' tab from any meal time listed, the dropdown list shows the data for the special meals for the selected day and meal time, here the special meals for breakfast are displayed.
NOTE: The 'Special 5' box indicates the number of students with special requirements, not the number of special meals.

Meal Management

In the main menu open System Configuration.

System Configuration >> Meals
Here, your school creates and manages all meal types as required.
