ARTICLE: Swift Action Buttons

A Swift Action button is a quick-select button that staff can select in a student's sidebar profile that provides a predetermined "swift" action.

Example 1:  Click Swift Button with label "Activities Bus" to place student in "Activity Bus" Group.


Example 2:  Click Swift Button with label  "Late to Study Hall" to create a predetermined pastoral note such as "Student was late to study hall."  No additional note required to be written once selected, but additional details can be added by staff before saving.


Example 3:  Click Swift Button with label "+5" for Pastoral Points to be added to the student's Pastoral Point count.


How to Configure Swift Action Buttons

System Configurations > Swift Action Buttons

To add a new Swift Action Button, select Add SAB


Label - Enter a Label for what your SAB will be named in the Student Sidebar
Ordinal - Enter a number for which order you want this SAB to appear in the Student Sidebar
Icon - Select from the icon library which icon you would like displayed in the Student Sidebar for the SAB
Icon Color - This color relates to SABs association with Group actions.  When selected, the SAB icon associated with a Group will be displayed in the configured icon color
Action Details - Select if the SAB will be for adding a student to a Group or related to creating a Pastoral Note for the student for which it's selected
Group (when Add to Group selected) - Select which existing Group this SAB will add the student for which it's selected (Groups can be managed in System Configuration > Groups) ARTICLE: How to Manage Groups in Reach
Pastoral Category (when Create Pastoral Note selected) - Select which existing Pastoral Category this SAB will use to create a Pastoral Note for the student for which it's selected (Pastoral Categories and associated Pastoral Point values can be managed in System Configuration > Pastoral) GUIDE: Configure Pastoral Settings

Advanced Configuration Option: Configure Groups to reset and clear daily

If you want a Group to reset and clear it's associated students each day, you can apply a Scheduler for the specified Group.  Examples of Groups that you might want to reset daily could be a 'Study Hall Extra Help' Group or "Parent Pick-Up" for after school.  ARTICLE: Scheduler
