ARTICLE: Parent - How to Create Leave Request - Web


The Reach platform provides a simple and easy method to create/edit/delete Leave Requests as required.

You can access the create area in two ways;
1. The main menu, select the suitcase for Leave Management and select Create New Leave
2. Within the Create Leave Request area of the main page, click on the green Create button.


Using either method, the Leave Request Details screen will open.


The details screen sets out each area of a leave request ready for information to be added, the list below briefly explains each area.
  • Student Name is the name of the student for whom leave is being requested
  • Leave Type is the type of leave you are requesting from the drop down menu (these are created and managed by your school)
  • Leave Departure and Return, is the time and date that the student intends to depart from the school
  • Transport Details - Departing/Returning is a drop down menu, select the required method for both journeys
  • Hosts are only parents and pre-approved guardians who are already created in the Reach system and associated with the student
  • Destination is the leave destination. Keep this description short and descriptive
  • Notes is the field where you can enter any relevant details that would be helpful for Staff 
  • Attached Files allows for the uploading of relevant travel documents, such as flight, train or bus confirmation details
  • Leave Additional & Audit Trail are provided so that you can view the process. The Audit trail lists the people involved in the leave approval process
  • Save / Cancel / Delete - Be sure to save your leave request when you have completed and checked your details


Once save, your new Leave Request will now display in the Current section of the main screen.
